THE SCHOOL HISTORY

          Our school started its education life in 1984 with the intensive efforts of the ex-governor, Mr. Ahmet Başsoy. On February 9, 1987, the school having started education with 73 students moved to a new school building constructed by Mr. Sırrı Yırcalı, the benefactor of Balıkesir.

          Our school, located on Bandırma Road, 8 km from the city center, was established on an area of 30,000 square meters. With the efforts of the school administration and the school protection association, the financial and moral support of the precious parents, and the benevolent society in Balıkesir supplying all kinds of tools and equipment for our school, our cafeteria had been put into service with full capacity so that 400 people could eat at the same time. With the increase in the number of students, our annex building with 18 classrooms was completed in a short time and opened for education with the help of the state. Our school was officially opened on 17 August 1987 by the Prime Minister of the time, Turgut Özal, and the Minister of National Education, Metin Emiroğlu.

             Ongoing education on 30-decare land since 1984, due to the risk of an inevitable and possible earthquake in the future, the school building was decided to be demolished on February 5, 2020, and after that decision, it had to continue its education in another school building at Kurtdereli Mehmet Pehlivan Sports High School on February 17, 2020. Once the new and modern building was completed, It opened its doors to the students again on February 2022. With the precious and full support of the philanthropic businessman, Mr. Rona Yırcalı, Sırrı Yırcalı Anatolian High school has been re-established.
